A shophouse street in Malaysia, close in grain to Perak trading streets

About the practice

Three readers, one canvas, extracts you already own

We started the table in Ipoh because that is where the extracts were already being opened — grocery importers and household catalogs sending Shopee and Lazada rows after 11.11 and asking which combo to kill. The name is literal: a canvas for the bundle, and a point of view on which SKU is carrying it.

Why a canvas, not a score

Commerce-app seller centres already count tickets. What they rarely say, in language a merchandiser can take to a listing intern, is whether a companion earned its discount or merely rode a loud window. We write on paper-shaped pages: pairing map, discount ladder, window notes, leakage flags. You keep the document. We do not retain a login.

Malaysia’s calendar shapes the work. Chinese New Year tins, Ramadan nights, 9.9 through 12.12, and the dull weeks in between are different trades. Averaging them into one health number is how a hamper gets left live in March.

We will decline dates when the export cannot support a claim. A reconstruction from SKUs that share an order is marked as a reconstruction. That stubbornness is the practice.

Reads attach, discount depth, and leakage

Aisha trained on category reports for a grocery importer in Perak before reading commerce-app extracts full time. She leads every Performance Review and will say when an extract cannot support a claim.

Listing habits and companion fit

Wei Jie spent years writing Shopee and Lazada titles for phone accessories and household kits. He checks whether a companion SKU can be found, photographed, and fulfilled as a pair, not only whether it appears in an extract.

Client briefs and the written canvas

Priya turns the marked canvas into the document you keep, including the keep / split / rest list. She also runs intake so the first extract we open is the one we actually need.

How we sit with clients

Intake is written. Priya asks for the live list, the windows, and the rows — not a password. The walkthrough is with the person who can change a listing the same week. If that person cannot attend, we wait. A canvas that only the founder understands is a canvas that does not reach the thumbnail.

We work in English. We read catalogs that sell into Malaysia, including shops whose warehouses sit in Selangor or Penang while the conversation happens from Ipoh. On-site pairing sessions use the address in the footer; remote tables use the same agenda.
